Post surgery it is vitally important that you have correctly fitting and comfortable bras to wear. Personally, I found that, for the first 6 weeks, comfort bras with no seams were the way forward. They didn’t rub my scars and could hold my prosthetic securely.
After 6 weeks I converted to non wired standard bras with built in pockets to hold the prosthetic. These bras were very expensive but did the job and made me feel that little bit more ‘normal’.
After about 6 months I was wearing my usual underwired bras again, all with built in pockets. They did take some getting used to but I saw it as another step forward.
